Center for Global Studies Internships
Duties and Responsibilities
All students will receive valuable work experience in a global studies environment. Duties will be adjusted based on the academic and professional interests of the intern. However, all interns are expected to support CGS activities and global studies research. Past internship duties have included (but are not limited to):
- Managing the CGS Listserv subscriptions
- Creating and sending out a biweekly newsletter
- Gathering information and designing the Annual Report
- Managing library material requests
- Assisting with event planning
- Serving as a research assistant
Required Skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines;
- Strong organizational skills
- Basic information technology skills
- High level of interest in global issues and research
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Must be a current Penn State student
Appointment Dates
This internship is open to all Penn State students interested in the field of global studies. Hours are negotiable but should range between 10-20 hours per week. Academic credit may be earned. Virtual and in-person internship opportunities are available.
