Activity (in Class)

  1. Watch What is Happening in Myanmar? Establishing peace in Myanmar is the main priority for Myanmar’s government. Should peace be the government’s main priority? Explain your answer. Do you think we take peace for granted in the United States?
  2. Summative Assessment. Students will write a one-page argumentative essay that answers the following questions: Based on everything you have learned about Myanmar, what do you think was the biggest cause of the crisis that is happening now? How do you think it could have been prevented? Students are encouraged to do research from credible news outlets to better understand the situation and to come up with possible solutions.
